Gaelle Berthelot was born in France in 1971, and studied Art in l'ecole des Beaux-Arts de Brest (France) for four years. She moved to Northern Ireland in 2000, following her participation in a cross-community project involving rowing and sailing for three months between Scotland, Ireland and Brittany in France. The subject-matter of her paintings is connected to her experience as a stage designer for different theatre companies, and her special interest in the human figure throughout the history of Art. Her paintings have been exhibited in Northern Ireland since 2001, and she is currently developing a body of work linked with portraiture.
